HORSES AND WAGONS SPLIT EACH DAY For those of you that have never ridden on a National ride, let me give you a thumbnail sketch of how the ride works. Saddle and hitch is called each morning 45 minutes before ride time. The ride will leave at 9:00 a.m. SHARP. Our fast, or gaited horses leave camp first with a trail master and scouts. They are followed by the slow or western horses ... with a different trail master and scouts. The wagons leave camp last and any riders that want can go with the wagons. Lunch will be on the trail. Some days we return to camp for lunch. Each of the three groups are radio equipped for safety and communication. Each group goes at its own pace, plenty of breaks ... almost an hour for lunch and everyone returns to camp around 3:00 p.m. allowing plenty of time to take care of all the horses and get yourself cleaned up and fresh for evening entertainment. Ride miles each day, an average of 10 - 12 miles. You may also ride on your own. |
EVENING ACTIVITY
Your winter trail ride vacation will open Friday evening with our
get acquainted party. You will meet the ride and camp officials and
have a chance to meet your new trail ride friends.

WAGONS WELCOME AT THE PANHANDLE James and Betty Pharis along with Lanny and Janice Simmons all from Kentucky will hopefully join us for this February ride. It was great to have Wimp Edmondson from Alabama at the 20th Annual Trail Rider's Reunion. We sure hope he can make this ride.
