The National Trail Ride Association is celebrating its 19th anniversary this November.  During those nineteen years, we have grown from only a few members to around 10,000 trail riders and wagon owners.

We host seven or more rides each year in almost as many states. Our members are folk just like you... and they come from almost all walks of life.  Farmers, factory workers, school teachers, lawyers, doctors, housewives and husbands alike.

Our main purpose is to search out the best trail riding places we can find and host a ride there once a year.  Over the past eighteen years, our riders and teamsters have had the opportunity to ride great trail riding areas from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to the hills of the Ozarks.

Is there a charge to become a member of the National?  Absolutely NOTYou only have to attend one ride per year to maintain your membership.

You will find our 2006 ride schedule listed here on the home page.  If you have never ridden on a National Trail Ride, we respectfully request that you try us one time.  If we have the kind of riders and teamsters that you would like to ride with, even have as friends, then maybe you will invite your best friend to ride with the National.

Each time you ride with the National, you will find all activities highly organized.  For example:  we send all rides out each day divided in to three groups.  The gaited or fast horses go first each day complete with trail master and scouts each radio equipped.  The second group to go are the western and slower horses, again complete with radio equipped scouts.  The final group to leave camp each day are the wagons with trail boss, scouts and radios.  Each group travels at there own pace, meet for lunch where possible and all return to camp by three P.M. each day.  Each ride is about 12-14 miles with breaks, almost an hour for lunch and returning to camp fresh enough to take care of there stock and enjoy the evening activities.  And, we have loads of evening activity.  On all five and six day rides, we have a welcome party, and elaborate Saturday evening meal followed by live western band and dance.  One evening a campfire sing, an auction one evening, and a second western dance after the awards party the night before closing.

You will find all National Rides to be safe and well run.  We draw the trail riders who like to have fun yet respects his or her camp and trail neighbor.

So why not join the group that is going places and doing things?
